The University of Gloucestershire is based mainly in Cheltenham and split across three sites. Despite the rural setting, the university offers a thriving social scene. It was ranked number one in the ‘Green People and Planet’ university league and is home to many mature and part-time students. Each degree subject falls into one of three faculties: Arts and Education, Environment and Leisure, and Business and Social Studies. There are also good education and sports-related courses on offer.

The LGBT society provides both social and welfare support, working closely with the Student Union to fight for LGBT Rights, as well as increasing awareness of LGBT issues in and around campus. Although Gloucestershire doesn’t have the most buzzing gay scene, there are a number of clubs and pubs and the LGBT society holds monthly socials at the ‘EXS’ nightclub.
